![]() Rule #7- Know what you want, and respect your needs It almost seems to be a safety net for if he’s caught red-handed and needs a reason to make himself look good. Even if you never check up on him and don’t get angry with anything – if you see him when he asks to and don’t push him to turn into a serious relationship- if you assert yourself on one thing- even calling him out for lacking basic courtesy or confronting him about blowing you off, or god forbid asking him not to sleep with anyone- then he will automatically fall back to calling you “clingy” or “needy” or “pushy”. If you’re a confident woman even if you’re not clingy, you don’t need to talk or see him all time time. Rule #6- … BUT the littlest things you do can be “too much” There’s a guy who blew up one of our friends with texts about how much he liked her after a lunch. Things may seem to move quickly with fiery declarations or pet names wayyyy too early on.There was once a guy who called me “princess” a week after meeting him. Regardless of if there’s fidelity or not, passion rarely seems to be lacking. Perhaps this is just a socially acceptable norm here, and we all understand Tico time… but there becomes a point where it’s just confusing and rude. And this happens over, and over, and over again. There are men who have made plans and then just didn’t call or show – or were HOURS late. There have been men who have gone MIA for a week then pick back up like nothing ever happened. Perhaps the most common thing seen so far is the gigantic time frames that pass between communication, and actual dates. Rule #4 – ….unless he IS into you but thinks it’s acceptable to blow you off and drop contact to whenever he pleases. Once again, for fear of confrontation and the truth, it seems that instead of being honest and letting you know what’s going on respectfully- he will just drop all forms of contact until you figure it out. Then, out of nowhere for no reason he will blow you off and drop all forms of contact. Perhaps you’ve been on a great date or two with a guy and things seem like they’re going really well. Rule #3- He’s Just Not That Into You – BUT he won’t tell you It’s happened to each of us… just be careful and aware. Rule 2b- If you don’t think he’s cheating on you, there’s a chance he’s Even if there’s sturdy evidence that proves otherwise. Rule #2a- He will most likely lie to you about sleeping with other peopleĮven when presented with a nonjudgmental or consequential opportunity to tell you the truth, even though “there’s nothing wrong with it because you’re not officially dating”, he will most likely lie to you about it to avoid consequences or confrontation. It could be anywhere from a few weeks to nearly a year that you’ve been seeing the guy (sleeping over, sex, dates out, he’s keeping a toothbrush at your place…) BUT if he hasn’t formally asked you to be your girlfriend then he will not see anything wrong with sleeping with other people as you were “never officially dating”. It seems that Tico men are very choosy about what women they will actually formally call their girlfriend, and be expected to be exclusive for. Rule #1 – “Dating” does not mean exclusive ![]() Taking that with a grain of salt, however from what we’ve seen, what we’ve heard, and what we’ve experienced, here are a few rules and expectations for dating here in Ticoland. If you’re aware that this is not an attack on every single Tico out there- continue reading. Yes, all people are different and have different experiences and a few girls’ experiences shouldn’t determine the style of all that is and will be. The dubbed series omits major character deaths and also edits out some violent, bloody and death scenes one episode from the original version, which focuses on the aftermath of a major character death, is even omitted completely and replaced with a makeshift clip show episode (although some scenes from the omitted episode are included in the replacement). This is obviously a gross over exaggeration to put on an entire population of men. Īn English dub of the series, entitled Tico & Friends, was produced by Ocean Studios. A novelization of the series written by Akira Hiroo was eventually published in 3 volumes by Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko in conjunction with the broadcasting. Unlike the other series in Nippon Animation's World Masterpiece Theater line, Tico of the Seven Seas is an entirely original story. Okto, Tonga Broadcasting Corporation, EM TV, TV3
