The first number in the string identifies the number of items in the case. The standard packing is a string of the form "36/1" or "12/12/1" or "12/12" or just "72", defining the default packing for cases of this product. The actual price at which you sell stock may vary from sale to sale depending on discounts that you may offer, but the base level price used in the calculation to determine the actual selling price is the item price and case price. Similar to item price, the case price is the price for stock sold in cases (if you are keeping track of cases separately from open stock), written as an integer or floating point number with a period decimal point, no dollar sign or other currency symbol, e.g., "1.2" not "$1.2". Finale will always respect product pricing as it exists on imported orders. The actual price at which you sell stock may vary from sale to sale depending on discounts that you may offer, but the base level price used in the calculation to determine the actual selling price is this item price for individual items or the case price (see below) for stock sold in cases. Similar to Std accounting cost, the item price is the price per each item, written as an integer or floating point number with a period decimal point, no dollar sign or other currency symbols, e.g., "1.2" not "$1.2". Therefore if you change the Std accounting cost of a product, that change applies to all your stock of that product. Although you may have acquired stock at varying costs from different purchases, this Std accounting cost property of the product is a single number that is considered to apply to all stock of this particular product. Std accounting cost functions as the actual cost for each item, written as an integer or floating point number with a period decimal point, no dollar sign or other currency symbols, e.g., "1.2" not "$1.2". Notes are a description of the product, up to 256 characters Unicode. The matching is case-sensitive and whitespace sensitive. The category must be an exact match to one of the product categories set in "Application Settings > Product". The Finale choreography documentation provides further details on simulations. If the description is a proper name, such as for a consumer cake, then you will need to add a custom simulation rather than relying on the default. Since Finale incorporates language parsing technology to interpret and understand the description, the default simulations are usually a reasonable match if the description is in fact descriptive. the description is also the recipe by which Finale choreography tools construct a default simulation for the product. Non-ASCII Unicode characters are supported, so the name can be in a non-English language, including languages such as Chinese or Japanese. The description is the name of the product, up to 256 characters. It can also be changed at a later date if desired (see the help article How do I change or update the Product ID for a product?) Description Product IDs can be uniquely your own or borrowed from your supplier's product ID. The field can contain ASCII characters not including whitespace, up to 191 characters total. The product ID is the unique database key that identifies the product. Overview of basic column titles: Product ID This list will automatically update whenever custom product or pricing fields are added or removed, or when certain features are enabled/disabled. Yellow rows mean the item will be created and green rows mean the details will be updated for existing products. In the "Import Products" screen, a list of supported column titles will be displayed below the "Paste" box. Next, copy the data from the spreadsheet and paste it into the import field. This spreadsheet can be imported in the products tab of Inventory. A list of all supported column titles are listed below the "paste" box on the import (see below) To create products in bulk using a spreadsheet, you will need, at a minimum, a two column spreadsheet with the Product ID (commonly referred to as a SKU), and the product's description (or name). Once you create the Product ID, Finale will automatically take you to the new Product ID's details page where you can input all relevant information such as description, cost, price, etc. To add items individually, chose "New Product" from your home screen under the Inventory column and either input a custom Product ID, or use a system generated Product ID number. We suggest using the bulk import function if you have more than a handful of products to add.
